Hidden Treasures Revealed

Not only do the members of the Quick & Clean Cataloging Project create great catalog records, they also write blog entries and curate exhibitions about the hidden treasures that they encounter on the job.  This helps to promote the collections and also provides the catalogers with the wide-ranging experience they need to begin their careers as rare book catalogers and curators. Catalogers Adam Doskey and Rebecca Bott curated an exhibition of interesting provenances to mark the end of the Mellon Grant in June 2009.  In Spring 2010, the Rare Book & Manuscript Library launched a collaborative blog called Non Solus, which also highlights discoveries from the vault.  From July to September 2012, the Quick & Clean catalogers held an exhibition on the then recently-cataloged Modern Poetry Collection. Currently the project posts on our blog, Non Solus, as well as the library's Tumblr page.
